Mystery Trip...
Like every trip in life, there's alternate routes on different roads...This is such time we travel on different roads... We have decided not to travel the southern tier route. Many factors played their part in making this decision ( college start dates, weather, hotels, forest fires, flooding, etc).
We are now doing to drive to Portland, Oregon to start our new trip. Below is the tentative new trip.
Portland to Astoria 95 miles
Astoria to Elma 90 miles
Elma to Sedro-Woolley 570 miles long-way around island Olympic mountains
Sedro Woolley to Twisp 140 miles
Twisp to Sandpoint 240 miles
Sandpoint to whitefish 170 miles
Whitefish to roosville 60 miles
Roosville to banff 250 miles
Banff to Jasper 190 miles
95+90+570+140+250+170+60+250+190=1815 miles
On a side note, we had great tacos at Pedros.
